- Problem Definition:- Assuming the user cases based on responses by the interviewer
- Our primary users are blue-collar workers which includes a wide range of professions such as construction workers, truck drivers, manufacturing workers, maintenance mechanics, and more.
- Some of the primary challenges these workers face include lack of visibility to potential employers, difficulty in showcasing their skills and certifications, and limited access to professional networking opportunities.
- The level of digital literacy among our users can vary greatly. While some may be tech-savvy, others might have limited experience with digital platforms. Therefore, the platform should be designed keeping in mind the lowest common denominator in terms of digital literacy.
- The platform should be accessible on various devices like smartphones, tablets, and desktops to cater to all user preferences. However, the primary focus should be on mobile accessibility, considering the on-the-go nature of many blue-collar jobs.
- Features that would be most beneficial for our users include a simplified job search, a feature to showcase their skills and certifications, professional networking opportunities, and resources for skill development.
- To ensure the platform is intuitive and user-friendly, it should have a simple and clean interface with clear instructions and minimal jargon. It may also be beneficial to offer a tutorial or guide for first-time users.
- The platform should support multiple languages to cater to a diverse user base.

Understanding user and pain points
These are people whose jobs might involve manual labor, like construction workers or truck drivers.
Here are the main issues we've identified for blue-collar workers and our ideas to tackle these:
- Finding Jobs: Workers mainly hear about jobs through friends or local agencies. We want to ease this process by introducing a simple job search feature on our platform. Jobs can be sorted by profession, location, pay, etc.
- Showcasing Skills: Current platforms don't adequately allow these workers to showcase their skills or qualifications. We aim to address this by letting users upload pictures or videos of their work, hence showcasing their skills, qualifications, and experience in a simple, clear way.
- Networking: Unlike office workers, blue-collar workers don't have many opportunities to network professionally. We plan to add features that let these workers connect professionally, potentially including chat features, community forums, or mentorship programs.
- Using the Platform: Some workers might not be accustomed to using digital platforms. To make our platform accessible and user-friendly, we'll design it to be easy to use, even for first-time users. This could include a simplified interface and a tutorial for new users.
- Language: Some workers might not be fluent in English. To ensure inclusivity, our platform will support multiple languages and have translation features for chats or other text-based features.

-
Community Engagement - Regularly engaging with the user community through surveys, feedback sessions, and social media can help keep the platform relevant and responsive to user needs. This could also involve organizing virtual or physical events to create a sense of community and belonging among users.
-
